Evaluations & Assessments
60 min - 120 min session (cost varies)
This is the first and necessary step to meeting your needs.
In this comprehensive phase we collect the baseline data upon which we base our decision on how to proceed with therapy.
We may assess any or all of these areas and others not listed here:-
Basic ADLs/IADLs, Mobility and Transfers, Home Safety, Reflexes, Balance, Fine Motor and Gross Motor Coordination, Strength, Range of Motion, Adaptive Equipment need and use, Smart Device use, Sensory Modulation, Behavior and Emotional regulation, Pain, Memory, Cognition and ability to follow directions etc;
Home Modification assessments;
School-based evaluations;

A plan of action is established in conjuction with the client. What do you want to achieve and; is it reasonable?
A thorough assessment takes between 1-2 hours. In rare cases, the assessment may be completed in more than one session.
Not all assessments and evaluations lead to an intervention or plan of care.
Cost of service depends on type, location and duration of evaluation.

Interventions are based on the findings in the assessment. This is when we determine the nature, frequency and duration of therapy.
We discuss the expectd outcome of the therapy and also provide additional resources that are available in the community.
Typical interventions include but are not limited to training/re-training in ADLs/IADLs, strengthening and balance training, coordination training, recommending adaptive equipment and other adaptive aids, smart device use training, recommending home modifications, optimizing the home environment for accessibility and performance, fall prevention and safety, removing barriers, liasing with other providers, educating team members and families, developing a home exercise program etc.

Services addressed here are non-traditional and highly customized for the individual.
Many of these areas are not covered by traditional payer systems making it hard for many to even realize that they need assessment and intervention in these areas.
These services involve basic assessment as the initial step and interventions formulated thereafter.
The cost is highly variable in this area.

Assessments and services in this area are those that are necessary but are generally non-traditional. These include,
Home Assessment and Modification;
Comprehensive Life Management System Evaluation;
Transition through life stages assessment;
Health, Wellness and Stress Management;
Community Integration and Re-integration;
Accessibility and Environment Optimization;
Ergonomics Assessment and Recommendations;
Vocational Assessment and Recommendations;
Advocacy, Second Opinion and Resource Location; etc.

This step follows the evaluation.
A customised treatment plan is established based on the findings in the evalutaion. We determine the type of visit (virtual/in-person), frequency (how often the visits will be) and duration (how long we will be working with you).
The treatment is to enable you meet your goals.
It may involve teaching new ways to do things, re-learning old ways, recommending adaptive equipment, family and caregiver education etc.
Cost depends on type of intervention provided.

Payment and Insurance
At this time OT World accepts Private Pay, Medcaid Waiver and other non-insurance payment.
We are in the process of onboadring with select insurances. Check this area regularly for updates, you may also subscribe to our newsletter for updates.
Payment is expected at time of service, unless prior arrangements have been made.
